Caran d'Ache was established in 1924 by the St. Gall industrialist Arnold Schweitzer in Geneva. More than 75 years later, Caran d'Ache is still the only factory in Switzerland, which manufactures pencils as well as a wide range of color products, writing utencils and luxury accessories. A classic is the 1953 imported ball-point pen Ecridor.
